Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of nurses, as essential actors in the identification of viral load among people living with HIV in the Democratic Republic of Congo in general, in the Maniema province, and particularly in the Kindu health zone. A reduction in the number of PLHIV undergoing viral load testing has been observed. Nurses play a crucial role in the follow-up of PLHIV, but they face various obstacles. This is a descriptive analytical quantitative study conducted in the Kindu health zone. Factor analysis, Chi-square tests, and logistic regression were used.

The results of this research reveal that the support provided by nurses in the detection of viral load in the Kindu health zone is low (36.4%).
