Abstract

Platinum-based anticancer drugs, including carboplatin, methotrexate, and cisplatin, are pivotal in the treatment of various cancers, offering potent therapeutic benefits. This report provides a comprehensive analysis of these drugs, focusing on their mechanisms of action, manufacturing processes, challenges in production, and regulatory frameworks. It covers the chemical synthesis routes, innovations in production, and the hurdles faced in scaling up manufacturing. Additionally, the report explores the economic and market dynamics surrounding platinum-based drugs, including cost considerations, competition, and market trends. Regulatory standards, including those from the FDA and EMA, are discussed in relation to quality control, safety, and compliance in the production process. The study also highlights the potential advancements in biotechnological and green chemistry approaches, automation, and nanotechnology, which aim to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of platinum drug production.
