Abstract

SLiver cirrhosis is correlated with substantial morbidity and mortality, making the early identification of prognostic factors essential for effective clinical management. This study evaluated the clinical and biochemical predictors of survival outcomes in patients with liver cirrhosis. A showing unit analysis was conducted using patient-level clinical and laboratory data from 418 individuals. Overall survival was measured from study entry until death or censoring. Existence patterns were compared using Kaplan-Meier analysis and log-rank testing, and independent predictors of mortality were found using univariable and multivariable Cox proportional hazards regression models. During follow-up, 161 deaths were recorded. The estimated survival probabilities at one, three and five years were 92.8%, 80.1% and 70.3%, respectively. Survival was significantly poorer among patients with advanced histological stage and overt oedema. In the multivariable analysis, increasing age, overt oedema, elevated bilirubin, prolonged prothrombin time and advanced histological stage were independently associated with higher mortality. Higher serum albumin was independently associated with improved survival. The final model demonstrated strong discriminatory performance, with a Harrell’s concordance index of 0.842. These findings indicate that routinely available clinical and biochemical indicators can effectively support survival prediction and early risk stratification in patients with liver cirrhosis.
